Intra-Asia container carrier TS Lines has expanded its Indian Subcontinent network with the launch of the China–West India Express 2 (CWX2) service, a dedicated shipping route designed to support growing trade volumes between China and India.
The new weekly service offers direct connectivity between key manufacturing hubs in East and South China and major commercial gateways on India’s west coast, providing shippers with improved transit reliability, reduced cargo handling, and enhanced supply chain efficiency.
The CWX2 service operates on a 42-day round-trip rotation with the following port sequence:
Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Port Klang (West) – Nhava Sheva – Hazira – Mundra – Port Klang (West) – Shanghai
By directly linking the industrial centres of Shanghai, Ningbo, and Shekou with India’s leading container ports, the service is expected to facilitate the movement of automotive components, industrial machinery, chemicals, consumer goods, and electronics with fewer transshipment requirements.
A key feature of the new service is TS Lines’ first-ever scheduled call at the port of Hazira Port. The addition expands the carrier’s coverage across Western India’s three major trade gateways—Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva), Hazira Port, and Mundra Port—under a single service network.
The inclusion of Hazira is expected to improve access to industrial and manufacturing clusters across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and northern India, while reducing dependence on regional transshipment hubs. This will help lower cargo handling risks, shorten dwell times, and provide more predictable delivery schedules for shippers.
According to TS Lines, the CWX2 service complements its existing Indian Subcontinent network by increasing service frequency, enhancing routing flexibility, and strengthening network resilience. The carrier expects the new offering to support the evolving logistics requirements of the China–India trade corridor and further facilitate bilateral commerce between the two markets.
