Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited, the subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has secured contracts for four additional 70-ton Bollard Pull ASD Tugs from the Adani Group, further strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two organisations and reaffirming industry confidence in Udupi CSL’s shipbuilding capabilities.

In another significant achievement, the shipyard successfully delivered a 70T BP ASD Tug to Polestar Maritime Ltd during the month, marking another milestone in its expanding portfolio of harbour and marine support vessels.

The company also recorded progress across multiple ongoing shipbuilding projects. Udupi CSL laid the keel for the second 6,300-ton General Cargo Vessel being constructed for Wilson ASA, while simultaneously commencing steel cutting activities for two additional projects — another 6,300-ton General Cargo Vessel for Wilson ASA and an additional 70T BP ASD Tug for the Adani Group.

The latest developments underline the shipyard’s growing role in India’s maritime and shipbuilding ecosystem, with seamless coordination across planning, engineering, production, and delivery teams contributing to the successful execution of multiple projects.

Highlighting India’s vision for “Maritime Amrit Kaal” under Narendra Modi, Udupi CSL stated that the maritime and shipbuilding sector is expected to play a vital role in driving national growth, self-reliance, and global competitiveness. The shipyard expressed pride in contributing to India’s evolving maritime ambitions and reaffirmed its commitment to achieving larger milestones in the future.

The company described the month as a period of “achievement, progress, and pride,” while thanking clients, partners, and employees for their continued trust and support.
