VOC Port has achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully handling 103 windmill blades in a single vessel operation — the highest ever managed at the Port. This surpasses the previous record of 101 blades handled on August 22, 2025, setting a new benchmark in renewable energy cargo operations.

Reinforcing its role in supporting India’s clean energy transition, the Port has handled a total of 2,300 windmill blades up to October 2025 in the current financial year (2025–26), marking a 61% growth compared to 1,425 blades handled during the same period in 2024–25.

The vessel MV GHT MARINAS, which arrived from the Port of Qinzhou, China, was berthed at Additional Berth-II, where the cargo was efficiently handled using two harbour mobile cranes. NTC Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. managed the vessel agency, stevedoring, customs clearance, and ground transportation.

The blades, measuring 89.5 metres and 76.8 metres in length, required precision handling and dedicated storage arrangements. VOC Port has developed extensive infrastructure to manage such over-dimensional cargo, including a 100,000 sq. m. customs-notified storage area and additional bonded space outside the port premises. Uninterrupted road connectivity and a skilled workforce further contributed to the smooth and efficient operation.

Congratulating the team, Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, IRSEE, Chairperson, VOC Port Authority, said, “The successful handling of 103 windmill blades underscores VOC Port’s efficiency, operational excellence, and commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy mission. The Port remains steadfast in its dedication to providing world-class services to its trade partners.”

With this achievement, VOC Port continues to strengthen its position as a vital logistics hub for renewable energy components, contributing to the nation’s sustainable growth and green energy goals.
