VOC Port Authority has recorded a significant increase in vessel traffic during the ongoing financial year 2025-26. Up to August 2025, the Port handled 731 ship calls, compared to 701 ship calls in the same period last year, marking a growth of 4.27%.

This growth reflects the Port’s rising prominence as a key maritime gateway on India’s east coast. The increase in ship calls is attributed to VOC Port’s continuous efforts in capacity augmentation, improved operational efficiency, and strong stakeholder confidence.

A VOC Port Authority official noted that the increase is driven by the Port’s focus on:

Enhancing cargo handling efficiency with modern equipment and upgraded berths.

Reducing vessel turnaround time through digital initiatives and process optimisation.

Expanding connectivity to hinterland markets through robust multimodal logistics support.

The Authority also emphasised its commitment to sustaining this momentum through ongoing infrastructure projects and customer-centric initiatives. With vessel traffic on a steady rise, VOC Port is set to further consolidate its role as a strategic hub for India’s trade in the region.
