AD Ports Group has confirmed that all its operations across key business clusters continue without disruption, even as geopolitical tensions in the Gulf region elevate risks to global shipping routes.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the Abu Dhabi-based trade, logistics and maritime infrastructure company said its crisis management and business continuity protocols have been activated in coordination with relevant UAE authorities to protect employees, partners and stakeholders while ensuring uninterrupted services for customers.

“All UAE ports and terminals managed by the group’s Ports Cluster, along with associated services, remain fully operational,” the company said, underscoring its ability to sustain full service levels even as disruptions affect broader maritime traffic.

The AD Ports Group also noted that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping chokepoint, has declined amid recent regional developments. While this has led to an anticipated reduction in vessel calls at Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, services at the facility will continue at full capacity and without interruption.

Despite the regional uncertainty, AD Ports expects cargo volumes to rise across its diversified international network as trading routes adjust in response to evolving conditions . Most of the group’s fleet of 122 vessels — including container ships, bulk carriers, roll-on/roll-off vessels and multipurpose ships — operate outside the Strait of Hormuz, with those remaining in the strait continuing intra-Gulf services.

The group also anticipates limited operational impact on its Economic Cities & Free Zones and Logistics Clusters, signaling resilience across its integrated portfolio.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, AD Ports’ Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the durability of global trade in the face of geopolitical tension, emphasizing the company’s disciplined operational approach and risk management strategies.

The reaffirmation of full operations comes against a backdrop of heightened Middle East tensions that have disrupted transportation networks and prompted rerouting of global shipping, raising concerns over supply chain stability worldwide.

Analysts say AD Ports’ ability to maintain uninterrupted services — even as traditional routes face pressure — offers reassurance to shippers and underscores the strategic role of UAE-based maritime infrastructure in global trade flows.
