Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has said that nearly 95% of its operations in West Asia remain unaffected despite ongoing geopolitical tensions, even as it works to address emerging logistics and supply chain challenges.

The engineering and construction major noted that while the broader conflict in the region has led to disruptions in shipping routes and material movement, its project execution and on-ground activities have largely continued without significant interruption. The company has a substantial presence in West Asia, particularly in infrastructure, hydrocarbons, and energy projects.

However, L&T acknowledged that logistical bottlenecks and delays in the movement of equipment and raw materials have surfaced in recent weeks. Rising freight costs, longer transit times, and increased insurance premiums are adding pressure to supply chains linked to the region.

To mitigate these challenges, the company is actively coordinating with suppliers, logistics partners, and clients to ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain project schedules. It is also exploring alternative sourcing strategies and routing options to minimise the impact of disruptions.

Industry observers say L&T’s relatively stable operations highlight the resilience of large, diversified engineering firms with strong regional networks and contingency planning in place.

While the situation remains fluid, the company expressed confidence in its ability to manage risks and sustain operations, underlining that the majority of its West Asia business continues to function normally despite the ongoing conflict.
