Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation is set to launch a new intra-Asia service connecting key ports in China, Singapore, and Malaysia, aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and meeting growing trade demand.
The new shipping loop will link major Chinese ports with transshipment hubs such as Singapore and key Malaysian gateways, enhancing cargo movement across one of the world’s busiest trade corridors.
The service is expected to provide improved sailing frequency and schedule reliability, offering exporters and importers more flexible options for moving goods within Asia. It will also support transshipment flows, enabling cargo to connect seamlessly with long-haul routes to Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
Industry observers note that demand in intra-Asia trade has remained resilient, driven by regional manufacturing activity and supply chain diversification. Shipping lines are increasingly deploying targeted services to capture this growth and optimise network efficiency.
Yang Ming’s new loop reflects a broader strategy among carriers to expand their presence in short-haul markets, which have shown relative stability compared to more volatile long-haul trades.
With the addition of this service, Yang Ming aims to strengthen its competitive position in the intra-Asia segment while enhancing service offerings for customers across the region.
