Trade relations between India and Nigeria in the textile sector still hold significant untapped potential despite growing commercial engagement between the two countries, according to the Indian envoy to Nigeria. The envoy highlighted that India remains a key supplier of textiles, fabrics, machinery, and apparel products to the African nation, while opportunities continue to expand in areas such as garment manufacturing, technical textiles, and cotton value chains.

The envoy noted that stronger collaboration between Indian exporters and Nigerian manufacturers could help boost bilateral trade volumes, encourage investments, and support employment generation in both countries. He also emphasized the need for greater business-to-business partnerships, technology transfer, and participation in trade exhibitions to deepen textile cooperation between the two nations.
