Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten held high-level discussions with CEOs of leading Dutch companies spanning semiconductors, ports, maritime, energy, aviation, healthcare, agriculture, and technology sectors, reaffirming the growing economic partnership between India and the Netherlands.
A major highlight of the meeting was the signing of an agreement between ASML and Tata Electronics to support India’s first front-end semiconductor fabrication facility at Dholera, Gujarat. The two leaders welcomed the collaboration as a significant step toward strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem and advancing resilient global supply chains.
Business leaders presented their India strategies across three major clusters — semiconductors and technology innovation, infrastructure and maritime logistics, and sustainability, energy, and agriculture. Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s ongoing reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business and creating a stable and predictable policy environment for global investors.
He invited Dutch companies to expand investments in key sectors including maritime infrastructure, renewable energy, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and healthcare.
The two Prime Ministers also emphasized the need for early implementation of the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), describing it as vital for strengthening trusted partnerships, open markets, inclusive economic growth, and resilient supply chains.
Industry leaders participating in the discussions praised India’s reform agenda and expressed strong interest in expanding their long-term presence in the country.
Key participating companies included APM Terminals, Damen Shipyards Group, Port of Rotterdam, Royal IHC, Van Oord, Royal Vopak, NXP Semiconductors, Philips, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Prosus among others.
