SAL Heavy Lift has announced the delivery of MV Patricia, the third vessel in its next-generation Orca Class series, marking another milestone in the company’s fleet modernization and expansion strategy.
Following the successful introduction of her sister vessels, MV Patricia has officially joined the fleet and is preparing for her maiden voyage. The vessel’s first assignment will involve transporting wind energy equipment from Asia to Europe for a long-standing customer, underscoring SAL’s growing role in supporting the global renewable energy sector.
The Orca Class has been specifically designed to meet the evolving demands of heavy lift, project cargo, and offshore logistics operations. Equipped with advanced lifting capabilities, enhanced operational flexibility, and fuel-efficient technology, the vessels are intended to deliver high-performance transport solutions for complex cargo projects worldwide.
With the delivery of MV Patricia, SAL now has three Orca Class vessels in operation, strengthening its capacity to serve customers in key industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors. The company said the series reflects its continued commitment to innovation and long-term investment in the future of maritime transportation.
SAL also acknowledged the contributions of its newbuilding, engineering, finance, and site supervision teams, as well as the vessel’s crew and all employees involved in bringing MV Patricia into service.
The addition of MV Patricia further reinforces SAL’s position in the heavy lift shipping market while supporting the increasing demand for specialized transport solutions in renewable energy and large-scale industrial projects.
