Air India Cargo has entered into a strategic partnership with cargo.one, making its cargo capacity available through digital booking channels for the first time. The collaboration enables freight forwarders worldwide to search, quote and book Air India Cargo shipments in real time, marking a significant step in the airline’s ongoing digital transformation.

The partnership is aimed at expanding Air India Cargo’s global sales reach while delivering a faster, more efficient booking experience for customers. Through the cargo.one platform, freight forwarders can now instantly access and book general cargo shipments of up to 2,500 kg across Air India’s international network.

The digital platform currently offers capacity on key trade routes connecting India with major global destinations, including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. Air India Cargo supports international trade through its primary cargo hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, serving customers across South Asia and key global markets.

The announcement comes as Air India accelerates its fleet modernization and expansion programme, which includes orders for 600 new aircraft. The airline said the collaboration with cargo.one will help bring additional cargo capacity to the global market while strengthening its digital sales capabilities.

cargo.one, which provides digital sales technology to 75 airlines, said the partnership will significantly enhance Air India Cargo’s visibility within freight forwarders’ digital procurement workflows, enabling quicker booking decisions and streamlined cargo operations.

Commenting on the partnership, Ramesh Mamidala, Head of Cargo at Air India Cargo, said the integration will improve digital access to the airline’s cargo network and simplify the booking process for freight forwarders across the world.

Moritz Claussen, Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer of cargo.one, said integrating Air India Cargo into digital procurement platforms will allow freight forwarders to make faster and more informed booking decisions while supporting the airline’s global commercial expansion.

The partnership reflects the growing shift towards digitalisation in the air cargo industry, as airlines increasingly leverage technology platforms to improve accessibility, operational efficiency and customer experience while strengthening their presence in international cargo markets.
