The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) convened a stakeholder consultation meeting to review the implementation and progress of the One Nation One Port Process (ONOP) initiative, aimed at standardising port procedures across India’s maritime sector.
The meeting focused on harmonising operational processes across Indian ports to improve efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and enhance the ease of doing business. Officials and industry stakeholders discussed measures to streamline port operations, promote uniform practices, and strengthen coordination among ports and maritime agencies.
The ONOP initiative seeks to establish common operational standards that will enable faster cargo movement, improve transparency, and create a more integrated port ecosystem. By adopting uniform processes, the government aims to enhance service quality, minimise procedural delays, and boost the overall competitiveness of Indian ports.
The Ministry emphasised that close collaboration with all stakeholders will be critical to the successful implementation of ONOP. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the modernisation of India’s maritime infrastructure while supporting the country’s growing trade and logistics requirements.
The One Nation One Port Process aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop a modern, integrated, and world-class port ecosystem that strengthens India’s position as a global maritime and logistics hub.
