A.P. Moller-Maersk (Maersk) has announced the launch of an improved service offering in New Zealand and the Islands.
Starting from 17 May (ETA Tauranga), the new NZPAC network will begin with a weekly service from New Zealand (Tauranga, Auckland) to Fiji (Suva, Lautoka) and Samoa (Apia).
According to Maersk, the improved service will also offer weekly coverage in American Samoa (Pago Pago) and Tonga (Nuku’alofa).
The NZPAC service will be operated by three vessels – the PFL Matai 004N, Capitaine Tasman, and Capitaine Tupaia.
The carrier reported as part of this network update, the present Fiji Express service will be discontinued, with the final journey as NPDL Tahiti 007.
Recently, Maersk announced it would keep rerouting its cargo ships to sail around the Cape of Good Hope.
