Adani Logistics has flagged off a dedicated reefer rail corridor connecting ICD Virochannagar in Gujarat with Mundra Port, strengthening India’s cold chain logistics infrastructure for export-oriented cargo movement. The temperature-controlled rail service has been launched in partnership with HyFun Foods and Evergreen Marine Corporation to facilitate seamless transportation of frozen cargo from Gujarat to global markets.

The dedicated corridor is expected to improve export efficiency, transit reliability, and supply chain resilience for temperature-sensitive cargo by enabling faster and more predictable rail-based transportation. The initiative also reflects the growing industry shift from road to rail logistics, offering improved cost efficiency and sustainability through lower carbon emissions and optimized cargo evacuation.

ICD Virochannagar is emerging as a key multimodal logistics hub within Adani Logistics’ expanding nationwide network. The facility is strategically positioned to strengthen hinterland connectivity with gateway ports such as Mundra Port through integrated rail logistics solutions.

Industry stakeholders said the dedicated reefer rail service will support India’s growing frozen and processed food exports by providing enhanced cargo safety, operational efficiency, and reliable cold chain connectivity. The development also underlines the increasing importance of integrated logistics infrastructure in supporting India’s export ambitions and driving long-term cargo volume growth across the country.
