Ashok Leyland has received an order for 715 commercial vehicles from VRL Logistics, further strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two companies and supporting fleet expansion in India’s logistics sector.

The order includes a range of heavy commercial vehicles that will be deployed across VRL Logistics’ nationwide transportation and cargo distribution network. The addition of new vehicles is expected to enhance operational capacity, improve fleet efficiency, and support growing freight demand across multiple sectors.

Company officials said the deal reflects continued confidence in Ashok Leyland’s vehicle performance, fuel efficiency, after-sales support, and nationwide service network. The vehicles are expected to be used for long-haul cargo movement, parcel distribution, and logistics operations across key trade corridors in India.

VRL Logistics, one of India’s major logistics and transportation companies, has been expanding its fleet to meet rising cargo movement requirements driven by manufacturing growth, e-commerce expansion, and increasing demand for organised logistics services.

Industry analysts noted that commercial vehicle demand in India has remained supported by infrastructure development, industrial activity, and improvements in road connectivity. Fleet modernisation and the replacement of older vehicles are also contributing to steady order flows for truck manufacturers.

The latest order highlights continued investment in logistics capacity expansion as transport companies focus on improving efficiency, reliability, and service reach in an increasingly competitive freight market.
