In a significant move aimed at accelerating India’s manufacturing and industrial growth, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has released the operational guidelines for the BHAVYA (Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana) Scheme.
Backed by a massive financial outlay of ₹33,660 crore, the scheme seeks to establish 100 world-class industrial parks across the country with modern plug-and-play infrastructure, multimodal connectivity, and integrated manufacturing ecosystems in partnership with State Governments.
The initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s position as a global manufacturing hub by creating investment-ready industrial zones that support ease of doing business and faster industrial expansion.
Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted that the scheme represents a major reform aimed at developing globally competitive manufacturing destinations while accelerating industrial development at scale.
According to the guidelines, the implementation will be carried out in phases. In the first phase, around 20 industrial parks are proposed to be taken up under the initial window, followed by another 30 parks in the subsequent phase.
The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) has been designated as the Project Management Agency (PMA) for the scheme and will oversee implementation, monitoring, and coordination efforts.
The BHAVYA Scheme is expected to provide a major boost to industrial infrastructure development, attract domestic and global investments, generate employment opportunities, and strengthen India’s long-term manufacturing ecosystem.
