Avianca Cargo has launched a dedicated freighter connection between Bogotá and Caracas using an Airbus A330-200F aircraft, strengthening air cargo connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela.

The new service deploys the widebody freighter with a payload capacity of around 60 tonnes per flight, enabling the transport of a wide range of goods including perishables, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and industrial cargo. The route complements belly capacity on passenger flights while providing dedicated cargo lift for growing bilateral trade.

According to the carrier, the reintroduced freighter link aims to support the rising commercial exchange between the two countries and position Bogotá as a logistics hub connecting shipments from other international markets to Venezuela.

The A330F aircraft offers advanced cargo-handling systems and temperature-controlled capabilities, making it suitable for high-value and time-sensitive shipments. Industry observers say the additional freighter capacity will help exporters move goods more efficiently compared with slower cross-border land transport options.

The move comes as air cargo demand between Colombia and Venezuela strengthens, with increasing flows of textiles, automotive parts, food products and industrial supplies moving through the corridor.

With the new route, Avianca Cargo continues to expand its regional network while reinforcing Bogotá’s role as a key logistics gateway for Latin American trade.
