Avianca Cargo has expanded its South American network with the launch of a dedicated freight service to Viru Viru International Airport, strengthening cargo connectivity and supporting growing trade flows across the region.

The new route is aimed at enhancing air freight capacity for exporters and importers operating in Bolivia and neighboring markets. By connecting Viru Viru to Avianca Cargo’s broader network, the airline will provide customers with improved access to destinations across the Americas and international markets, enabling faster and more efficient movement of goods.

Viru Viru International Airport, located in Bolivia’s commercial hub of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, plays a crucial role in the country’s logistics and trade activities. The region is a major center for agricultural production, manufacturing and export-oriented industries, generating strong demand for reliable cargo transportation services.

Avianca Cargo said the dedicated freight operation will support the transport of a wide range of commodities, including perishables, pharmaceuticals, industrial equipment, consumer goods and e-commerce shipments. The service is expected to offer exporters greater flexibility and capacity while improving access to international supply chains.

The launch reflects Avianca Cargo’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its presence in Latin America and capitalize on increasing demand for air freight services. The carrier has been investing in network expansion, fleet utilization and specialized cargo solutions to better serve customers across the region.

Industry analysts note that demand for air cargo connectivity in South America continues to rise as businesses seek faster transport options and more resilient supply chains. Enhanced access to international markets is particularly important for exporters of time-sensitive and high-value products.

With the addition of Viru Viru to its route network, Avianca Cargo is expected to bolster regional trade links, improve logistics efficiency and provide businesses in Bolivia with expanded opportunities to reach global markets. The new service further reinforces the carrier’s role in supporting economic growth and cross-border commerce throughout Latin America.
