Bengaluru-based Bobba Logistics is pioneering a new approach to micro-fulfilment in India by adapting a concept widely used in the aviation industry—code-sharing—to warehousing. The logistics company, part of the Bobba Aviation legacy with deep expertise in cargo terminal operations and airport ground handling, aims to reshape nationwide distribution for MSMEs through a connected, service-driven fulfilment network.

Bobba Logistics launched its first micro-fulfilment experience centre in 2021, located 12 km from Kempegowda International Airport on Bellary Road. Designed around smart storage formats and customer-led solutions, the centre supports MSMEs with organised, fast, and sustainable warehousing.

“Micro-fulfilment centres play a significant role in supporting MSMEs by providing them with organised logistics which helps seamless, cost-efficient, and sustainable fulfilment warehousing,” said Chandrakala Bobba, Director, Bobba Group.

A New Network Model Inspired by Aviation

In the airline industry, code-sharing enables passengers to travel seamlessly across partner carriers. Bobba Logistics is applying the same principle to warehousing by creating an interoperable fulfilment network with regional logistics operators. Instead of investing in multiple facilities across states, the model aims to give MSMEs nationwide reach through shared nodes that offer standardised service levels.

The company is currently in discussions with partners to enable brands to distribute products efficiently to cities such as Jaipur, Guwahati, and Kochi without needing their own infrastructure.

    Service-Led Infrastructure for Connected Fulfilment

Bobba Logistics’ existing warehouse formats—such as pallet-based daily rentals and hub-and-spoke distribution—form the operational backbone of this emerging network.

“Our customers include freight forwarders, cold storage users, frozen food players, exporters of perishables, importers, airlines, luxury brands, healthcare, auto component makers, and tyre manufacturers. We handle a vast range of inventory, and customers can use our facility for distribution as well, sending required materials to different locations,” said Balajee Bobba, Director, Bobba Logistics.

    Digital Tools to Enable Interoperability

As the code-sharing model evolves, the company is also evaluating shared digital platforms to ensure unified visibility across partner warehouses. The plan includes real-time inventory tracking, which would help reduce delays caused by fragmented systems and enable MSMEs to handle fluctuating demand without building separate infrastructure in multiple states.

    Expansion Plans Underway

While championing a network-led fulfilment structure, Bobba Logistics is also expanding its physical footprint. The company is preparing to open its second micro-fulfilment centre in Devanahalli, which will follow a build-to-suit model offering dedicated storage formats and service areas for each customer.

With its innovative approach merging aviation-style efficiency and logistics expertise, Bobba Logistics aims to redefine the micro-fulfilment landscape and unlock faster, smarter distribution for India’s MSME sector.
