French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced a new port congestion surcharge (PCS) in South African ports due to the ongoing congestion in the region.
CMA CGM will implement a PCS of US$200 per TEU to Port Elizabeth, Durban and Cape Town, effective from 3 December.
The surcharge will apply to dry and reefer containers arriving at the three South African ports from all the origins across the world, except East and West Africa.
Additionally, for cargo from the United States and territories, the surcharge will be effective from 6 December.
