A business development meeting was held between the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) and JSW Murbe Port Pvt. Ltd. to deliberate on a proposal for establishing rail connectivity at Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) stations between New Palghar and New Saphale, under Schedule I of the Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) Policy.
The meeting was chaired by Sh. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director (Operations & Business Development), DFCCIL, and focused on advancing seamless port–rail integration to enhance logistics efficiency and multimodal cargo movement along the WDFC, one of India’s most critical freight corridors.
Key discussions centred on leveraging the Gati Shakti framework to enable efficient evacuation and aggregation of cargo from JSW Murbe Port, reduce transit time, lower logistics costs, and strengthen the overall supply chain ecosystem in the region.
The meeting was attended by Sh. S. P. Verma, GGM (Business Development & Business Analytics); Sh. Nitin Bansal, GM (Operations); and Sh. Roshan Singh, GM (Operations). Officers from DFCCIL’s Mumbai and Ahmedabad units also participated via video conferencing, reflecting a coordinated, multi-regional approach to project planning and execution.
The proposed rail connectivity is expected to significantly improve last-mile and first-mile connectivity for port-led logistics, aligning with the Government of India’s vision under the Gati Shakti National Master Plan to create integrated, efficient, and future-ready freight infrastructure.
