The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL) is continuing its rapid upward trajectory, marking a remarkable rise in daily freight train operations over the past four years. According to the latest data, train movements on the DFC network have increased from 65 trains per day in 2021–22 to 389 trains per day in 2025–26 (up to November), reflecting a sixfold jump in operational throughput.

This significant growth underscores the enhanced capacity and efficiency of India’s modern freight rail backbone. The increase is attributed to the deployment of high-speed, heavy-haul infrastructure, prioritised freight movement with zero passenger traffic interference, advanced signalling and electrification systems, and streamlined operations planning.

DFCCIL’s progress also highlights growing confidence among industries that rely on the network for reliable transit times and faster turnaround, reinforcing the Dedicated Freight Corridor’s pivotal role in strengthening India’s logistics landscape.
