Ethiopian Airlines’ cargo division has enabled digital booking through the platform operated by Freightos, allowing freight forwarders to search, compare and reserve air cargo capacity online.

With the integration, capacity from Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services will be available on the Freightos WebCargo marketplace, enabling forwarders worldwide to access real-time pricing and space availability. The move is expected to simplify the booking process and improve efficiency in managing air freight shipments.

Industry participants say the partnership reflects the growing adoption of digital tools in the air cargo sector, where airlines are increasingly turning to online marketplaces to streamline capacity sales and improve visibility for freight forwarders.

Ethiopian Cargo operates one of the largest cargo networks in Africa, connecting major global trade hubs through its base in Addis Ababa. By joining the Freightos platform, the airline aims to broaden its digital reach and strengthen connectivity with freight forwarders across key international markets.

Freightos said the addition of Ethiopian Cargo expands the range of airline capacity available on its marketplace, giving users more options when booking shipments between Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Air cargo stakeholders note that digital booking platforms are becoming a key part of the industry’s push toward greater transparency and efficiency, enabling faster quoting and reservations compared with traditional manual processes.
