    India has simplified export documentation requirements to facilitate trade with West Asia and North Africa (WANA), aiming to reduce procedural delays and improve ease of doing business for exporters.

    The government has authorised designated chambers of commerce to issue non-preferential Certificates of Origin for exports to the region. This move is expected to streamline paperwork, shorten turnaround times, and cut compliance costs for Indian exporters.

    Officials said the step would particularly benefit small and medium exporters and help strengthen India’s trade engagement with key markets in West Asia and North Africa, which account for a significant share of the country’s exports.
