A fire incident was reported aboard the tanker MT Marivex, carrying 24 Indian seafarers, in waters south of the Strait of Hormuz on Monday. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways confirmed that all crew members are safe and no injuries have been reported.
Speaking during a media briefing, Shipping Division Director Opesh Kumar Sharma said the fire was detected at approximately 1:30 p.m. Authorities immediately initiated response measures, with the Ministry coordinating closely with external affairs and naval agencies to ensure the safety and welfare of the crew.
