The Indian Ports Association (IPA), New Delhi, under the chairmanship of Sushil Kumar Singh, convened a meeting with representatives of all six labour federations to discuss issues arising out of the wage settlement signed on September 24, 2024.
The meeting was attended by Vikas Narwal, Managing Director of IPA, along with senior officials of the association.
Discussions focused on key labour and welfare matters concerning the port workforce. During the meeting, IPA assured that necessary action would be taken for the reconstitution of a committee comprising representatives of labour federations for framing a new Productivity Linked Reward (PLR) Scheme for FY 2026-27.
IPA also assured that the process for the next wage settlement, due from January 1, 2027, would be initiated. Other labour-related issues were also taken up for discussion during the deliberations.
Representatives of the labour federations assured full cooperation to the port management in addressing workforce and operational matters.
