In a pioneering move for India’s maritime logistics, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vadhvan Port Private Limited (VPPL) and TUTR Hyperloop Pvt. Ltd. to explore the deployment of Hyperloop technology for high-speed cargo movement.

The MoU was signed in the august presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The event was also attended by Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairperson, JNPA and CMD, VPPL, along with senior officials.

The collaboration marks a major step toward revolutionizing port-led logistics in India. Hyperloop technology is expected to drastically reduce cargo travel time, improve turnaround efficiency, and lower emissions, offering a futuristic model of cargo transportation.

“This initiative places JNPA at the forefront of smart and sustainable port operations,” said Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh. “By integrating Hyperloop systems, we aim to deliver faster, cleaner, and more reliable logistics solutions for businesses and citizens alike.”

The project holds the potential to transform how goods—from essential commodities to global exports—move across the supply chain, making Indian trade not only greener but also globally competitive.
