The Kerala Maritime Board (KMB) is giving a new impetus to the state’s coastal development by working towards building a robust Blue Economy that integrates Kerala’s 590-km-long coastline and its 17 ports.

With a focus on cargo movement, cruise tourism and port-based industries, the Board aims to position the maritime sector as a key driver of Kerala’s overall economic growth.

Speaking on the Board’s initiatives and future roadmap, KMB Chairperson Shri N.S. Pillai (IA&AS Retd.) said the objective is to harness Kerala’s vast coastal and maritime potential in a sustainable manner, while generating employment, attracting investments and strengthening the state’s role in regional and international trade.

The Kerala Maritime Board continues to play a pivotal role in transforming ports into multi-functional economic hubs, aligned with the state’s long-term vision for sustainable coastal development and maritime-led growth.
