Kuehne+Nagel International AG continues to lead the global airfreight forwarding market, even after DSV Panalpina completed its acquisition of Schenker AG, according to industry analysts.

The takeover has expanded DSV’s footprint in air and ocean freight, consolidating its position among the top forwarders. However, Kuehne+Nagel retains its top ranking by volume, benefiting from a strong global network, diversified customer base, and integrated logistics services.

Market observers noted that while DSV-Schenker may challenge K+N’s dominance in certain regional markets, Kuehne+Nagel’s scale, technology-enabled operations, and long-standing contracts with major shippers have allowed it to maintain a clear lead in overall airfreight tonnage.

K+N executives said the company continues to invest in digital solutions, warehouse automation, and sustainable logistics offerings to strengthen its competitive edge. The firm also highlighted its focus on value-added services such as customs clearance, temperature-controlled shipments, and time-critical deliveries.

Analysts expect the airfreight sector to remain dynamic as consolidation continues, but Kuehne+Nagel’s broad service portfolio and global network are likely to keep it at the forefront of the industry for the near term.
