The ports supervised by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have achieved a 0.21 per cent increase in total cargo throughput during November 2025, reaching 17.82 million tonnes, compared to 17.78 million tonnes in the same period of 2024.
General cargo totalled 1.19 million tonnes, dry bulk 4.02 million tonnes, and liquid bulk 12.61 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, total handled containers recorded a 2.97 per cent decrease, reaching 649,286 TEUs compared to 669,174 TEUs last year.
However, transhipment containers rose by 8.22 per cent, reaching 162,252 TEUs compared to 149,927 TEUs in the same period of 2024.
Imported containers decreased by 6.83 per cent, reaching 241,494 TEUs compared to 259,201 TEUs, while exported containers dropped by 5.58 per cent, totalling 245,540 TEUs compared to 260,046 TEUs last year.
Moreover, maritime traffic increased by 6.81 per cent, reaching 1,020 vessels compared to 955 vessels in the same period last year.
Vehicle volumes declined by 22.68 per cent, reaching 77,134 vehicles, down from 99,759 vehicles.
It is worth noting that in October 2025, ports supervised by Mawani recorded a 12.19 per cent increase in total handled containers, reaching 709,393 TEUs compared to 632,323 TEUs in the same period of the previous year.
Earlier this week, Mawani signed a contract with Q Saudi to launch development and operational works for an integrated logistics centre at Yanbu Commercial Port.
