MSC has announced the extension of its Jua Express container service to Sri Lanka, marking a strategic expansion in its South Asia shipping network. The move is aimed at improving connectivity and providing shippers with faster and more reliable access to key Sri Lankan ports, supporting both import and export trade.

With this extension, MSC’s Jua Express will now call at Colombo, linking it seamlessly with existing East Africa, India, and regional South Asia ports on the service loop. The expansion is expected to benefit sectors such as garments, tea, seafood, and industrial goods, offering enhanced transit times and more frequent sailings.

Industry analysts say the extension reflects MSC’s ongoing strategy to strengthen regional trade lanes, respond to growing cargo demand, and optimize vessel utilization. Shippers are encouraged to coordinate with MSC agents to leverage the new service for streamlined supply chain operations.

MSC highlighted that the addition of Sri Lanka to the Jua Express route is part of broader plans to expand its footprint across emerging trade markets, improve regional connectivity, and offer customers more flexible and efficient shipping solutions.
