Singapore’s maritime heritage has a new symbol to sail under — and it’s proudly carrying the SG60 spirit across oceans. In a special tribute to Singapore’s 60th year, Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd (PIL) has unveiled the Kota Ocean, its first container vessel emblazoned with the official SG60 logo.

The 8,200 TEU Kota Ocean is not just a nod to national pride; it also reflects PIL’s commitment to a sustainable shipping future. Powered by LNG dual-fuel technology, the vessel marks another step in the company’s transition toward greener operations.

Adding to the celebrations, PIL has rolled out 100 limited-edition containers carrying the SG60 design. These containers will play a dual role — supporting logistics for this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) at key venues and journeying on PIL’s global trade lanes, sharing Singapore’s story with the world.

Headquartered in Singapore and with over half its services calling at the Port of Singapore, PIL remains one of the nation’s key maritime ambassadors. Its latest initiative not only strengthens its operational presence but also reinforces the country’s status as a global shipping hub.

Maritime enthusiasts and spotters now have a unique challenge: with only 100 of these SG60 containers in existence, sightings will be rare. Those lucky enough to spot or photograph one are encouraged to share the moment — a small but meaningful way to celebrate Singapore’s diamond jubilee at sea.
