In a significant boost to its integrated logistics capabilities, Pacific International Lines (PIL) has launched a new intermodal corridor linking Prachinburi province in central Thailand to Laem Chabang Port, marking another milestone in the company’s end-to-end service offerings.
The newly established route saw the successful movement of 10 twenty-foot containers (TEUs) carrying polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. The cargo was first transported by truck from its origin in Prachinburi province to Laem Chabang Port, Thailand’s principal deep-sea port.
The containers were loaded on 18 February onto a partner vessel under PIL’s Bangkok Service 1 (BK1) and shipped to Singapore for transshipment. From there, the consignment will continue its journey via PIL’s Redsea Service (RS2) to Djibouti, before final delivery to customers in Ethiopia.
The new corridor underscores PIL’s strategy of enhancing inland connectivity and strengthening multimodal logistics solutions. By seamlessly integrating trucking and ocean freight services, the company has demonstrated its ability to offer comprehensive door-to-door solutions tailored to customer needs.
This development also reinforces Thailand’s position as a key export hub for industrial and chemical products while expanding trade connectivity between Southeast Asia and East Africa.
With expanding service networks and strengthened inland transport capabilities, PIL continues to push boundaries in delivering efficient, reliable and customer-focused logistics solutions across global markets.
