PIL has received official approval from Saudi authorities to operate in key ports across the kingdom, marking a significant step in its Middle East expansion strategy.

The licence allows PIL to handle cargo operations, provide terminal services, and manage logistics activities at designated Saudi ports. The move is expected to strengthen trade flows between India and Saudi Arabia, particularly in sectors such as containerised goods, bulk shipments, and industrial cargo.

Industry experts noted that Saudi Arabia’s strategic location and growing port infrastructure make it an attractive market for international shipping players. PIL’s entry is expected to enhance operational efficiencies, improve service offerings for exporters and importers, and support regional supply chains.

The company said it will leverage its global network, technology-driven operations, and experience in port management to ensure high service standards and seamless cargo handling. Officials also indicated that this expansion aligns with PIL’s broader objective of deepening its presence in key international markets.

Further details regarding operational timelines, targeted ports, and service capacity are expected to be announced as PIL begins its Saudi operations.
