Spices Board India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AYUSHEXCIL to strengthen the global promotion and export of Indian herbal, Ayurvedic and value-added natural products.

The partnership aims to enhance collaboration between the spice and AYUSH sectors by supporting export-oriented initiatives, market development activities and international trade promotion for Ayurvedic and herbal products derived from Indian spices and medicinal plants.

Under the agreement, both organisations will work together on export promotion campaigns, participation in international trade fairs, buyer-seller meets, product awareness programmes and capacity-building initiatives for exporters. The collaboration is also expected to focus on quality standards, certification support and regulatory compliance in overseas markets.

Industry stakeholders said the agreement comes at a time when global demand for natural wellness, herbal healthcare and traditional medicinal products continues to grow steadily. India is regarded as a major supplier of spices, medicinal herbs and Ayurveda-based products, supported by its strong agricultural and traditional healthcare base.

Officials noted that the MoU is expected to help Indian exporters expand market access in regions such as Europe, North America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, while also promoting value addition and higher export earnings.

The collaboration aligns with India’s broader efforts to position Ayurveda and herbal wellness products as key export segments in the global healthcare and nutraceutical industries.
