Synergy Marine Group, in partnership with Karpowership, has completed the conversion of a 125,000 m³ LNG carrier into a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), the KARADENIZ LNGT POWERSHIP AMERICAS. The vessel was delivered at Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard in Singapore, marking a major milestone in accelerating LNG-to-power deployment worldwide.
Synergy executed the project on a turnkey basis, managing design, engineering, procurement, and site supervision, ensuring safe, on-time delivery optimised for integration with Karpowership’s global fleet of floating power plants. Following delivery, the FSRU has come under Synergy’s full technical management, extending its role into ongoing operations.
With a regasification capacity of up to 150 mmscfd, the KARADENIZ LNGT POWERSHIP AMERICAS is designed to operate offshore for up to 10 years. The unit enables fast-track LNG-to-power solutions in regions lacking onshore gas infrastructure, reducing project timelines from years to months.
Mehmet Katmer, General Manager of Kinetics, said FSRUs are “redefining how quickly LNG-to-power can be deployed, anywhere in the world.” Jesper Kristensen, Group CEO of Synergy Marine Group, added that the project demonstrates Synergy’s “end-to-end maritime solutions for the energy sector” and reflects its “commitment to innovation, safety, and quality.”
