As the maritime industry steps into 2026, Synergy Marine Group has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to safety with a significant milestone achieved by the Synergy-managed chemical tanker AL BETROLEYA. On 1 January 2026, the vessel marked an important Lost Time Incident (LTI)-free record, underscoring disciplined operational practices and a deeply embedded safety culture on board.

The milestone reflects sustained effort rather than short-term performance. It is the outcome of consistent adherence to procedures, effective application of training, proactive risk identification, and sound decision-making at sea—supported by continuous engagement and oversight from shore-based teams.

Synergy emphasised that an LTI-free record does not imply the absence of risk. Instead, it highlights a working environment where hazards are identified early, risks are openly discussed, and preventive actions are taken before incidents occur. Daily practices such as careful task planning, fatigue management, near-miss reporting, and strict application of operational standards play a critical role in maintaining safe operations, watch after watch.

A photograph shared to mark the occasion shows seafarers on board AL BETROLEYA coming together to acknowledge the achievement. While simple, the moment symbolises a core principle of maritime safety: it is collective in nature, visible in teamwork, shared responsibility, and mutual accountability.

The achievement also recognises the contributions of former crew members who served on the vessel in previous years. Their role in establishing strong safety practices and operational discipline continues to underpin the vessel’s performance today.

As Synergy and its seafarers move forward into 2026, the milestone serves as a timely reminder that safety is not a destination but a continuous commitment—renewed with every watch, every operation, and every handover, with people firmly at the centre of safe and reliable maritime operations.
