Asian container carriers Wan Hai Lines and Interasia Lines have announced key adjustments to their intra-Asia service network, aimed at improving operational efficiency and strengthening regional supply chain continuity.

    NS5 Service Realigned
The NS5 service has been restructured with a sharper focus on the East Asia–Southeast Asia trade lane. As part of the revision, selected port calls in Taiwan have been withdrawn and port coverage in Japan adjusted. At the same time, new calls have been added in China and Vietnam, including Phuoc An Port, underscoring Vietnam’s rising importance in the intra-Asia container market.

    New TVS Service Introduced
To ensure uninterrupted connectivity, Wan Hai and Interasia have launched the TVS service, operated with mid-sized vessels. The new loop will maintain coverage for ports removed from the NS5 service while continuing to connect Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

    Industry Perspective
The network realignment highlights both carriers’ efforts to optimize port coverage, enhance flexibility, and better align capacity with cargo demand across intra-Asia trades. The move also reflects a proactive approach to managing market volatility and minimizing disruption risks in regional logistics.

Legend Shipping will continue to share timely updates on service changes, sailing schedules, and intra-Asia logistics trends to support effective shipment planning.
