    A cargo vessel arrived at Chittagong Port from India carrying 6,000 tons of parboiled rice on Saturday.

    “The ship, MV PHU THANH 36, with 6,000 tons of rice under the contract (Package-2) concluded through international tender, anchored at Chittagong Port on Saturday,” said Imdad Islam, public relations officer of the Food Ministry.

    “Necessary measures have been taken to ensure unloading activities begin later in the day after testing the rice samples stored on the ship.” he added.
