The Port of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) remained the nation’s second-busiest gateway for loaded containers in November 2025, handling 509,124 TEUs.
Over the first 11 months of 2025, the port moved a total of 5.52 million loaded TEUs, maintaining its high ranking in US container throughput.
Vehicle traffic at the Port Authority’s six crossings also remained steady.
In November, 10.1 million eastbound vehicles used the crossings, a 0.01 per cent decrease from the same month in 2024 and 0.6 per cent below pre-pandemic November 2019 levels.
From January through November, total eastbound traffic reached 111.3 million vehicles, slightly below both 2024 and 2019 figures.
The port continues to serve as a key gateway for regional and international trade, supporting the movement of goods through its terminals and connecting New York and New Jersey to national and global supply chains.
In December 2025, PANYNJ announced a landmark 33-year lease extension at Maher Terminals.
