Mumbai-based Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd. (GE Shipping) has delivered its 2011-built Kamsarmax dry bulk carrierJag Aarati, to the buyers, completing a sale contracted in the third quarter of FY26.

Following the transaction, GE Shipping’s owned fleet stands at 39 vessels, comprising 26 tankers and 13 dry bulk carriers, with an aggregate capacity of 3.14 million deadweight tonnes (dwt). The tanker fleet includes 5 crude tankers, 16 product tankers, and 5 LPG carriers, while the dry bulk segment consists of 2 Capesize, 9 Kamsarmax, and 2 Supramax vessels.

The delivery of Jag Aarati forms part of the company’s ongoing fleet optimisation strategy, aimed at balancing asset age, market exposure, and capital allocation across shipping cycles.

In addition to the completed sale, GE Shipping has lined up further transactions for the current financial year. The company has contracted to acquire one secondhand Ultramax dry bulk carrier and one secondhand Medium Range (MR) tanker, while also agreeing to sell its Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) Jag Vishnu. These purchase and sale transactions are expected to be concluded in the fourth quarter of FY26.

With these moves, GE Shipping continues to actively manage its portfolio across dry bulk, tanker, and gas segments, positioning its fleet to capitalise on evolving market conditions while maintaining scale and diversification.
