Pacific International Lines (PIL) has marked a significant milestone with the successful launch of a new intermodal corridor in Chile, completing its first intermodal shipment through PIL Intermodal Services.

The inaugural movement began on January 7 in Santiago, where 76 barrels of fruit juice were loaded into a 20-foot container. The container was transported by road to the port of San Antonio, from where it commenced its ocean voyage on January 9 aboard PIL’s West Coast Central and South America Service 6 (WS6). The shipment is currently en route to its final destination in Adelaide, Australia.

The operation represents PIL’s first end-to-end intermodal movement in Chile, seamlessly integrating inland trucking with ocean transportation. The new corridor enhances cargo connectivity between Chile’s inland production centres and global markets, particularly across the Asia–Pacific region.

PIL said the successful execution underscores its commitment to “Putting Customers First” by offering integrated, one-stop transport solutions that improve supply chain efficiency. By expanding its intermodal capabilities in South America, the company aims to deliver greater flexibility, reliability, and value for customers with complex logistics requirements.

The launch further reflects PIL’s strategy of pushing boundaries in multimodal logistics and strengthening its service offerings across key global trade lanes.
