A scanner failure has disrupted airfreight operations in Bangladesh, causing delays in cargo processing and creating bottlenecks for exporters and logistics operators handling international shipments.

Industry sources said the technical malfunction affected cargo screening activities, slowing the movement of export consignments through airport cargo terminals. Freight forwarders and exporters are reportedly facing shipment delays as authorities work to restore normal operations and clear the backlog.

The disruption is expected to impact time-sensitive cargo segments, including garments, perishables, and high-value exports that rely heavily on fast air cargo connectivity. Logistics stakeholders warned that prolonged delays could increase operational costs and affect delivery schedules for overseas buyers.
