The Panama Canal Authority is advancing plans for the development of the Corozal and Telfers terminal projects as part of its strategy to strengthen port infrastructure and expand logistics capacity around the canal. The initiatives are aimed at enhancing cargo handling capabilities and supporting the growing demand for transshipment and maritime trade services.

The proposed terminals are expected to improve operational efficiency by increasing container handling capacity and providing additional facilities for shipping lines operating through the canal. The projects also form part of broader efforts to reinforce Panama’s position as a leading global maritime and logistics hub.

Once completed, the Corozal and Telfers terminals are expected to attract new investment, create employment opportunities and improve connectivity between the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. The expansion is also anticipated to boost the canal’s competitiveness by offering greater flexibility and capacity for global container trade.
