Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has successfully completed its first Pure Car Carrier (PCC) vessel call at Mipec Port (MPC) in Hai Phong, Vietnam, marking an important milestone in the company’s expanding automotive logistics operations in the country.

The PCC vessel berthed at MPC as scheduled on 8 August, with the first large-volume cargo loading operation completed safely and efficiently. The successful operation highlighted the professionalism, coordination and commitment of the teams involved in handling the vessel and cargo.

MOL, one of the world’s leading car carrier operators, has supported global automotive logistics since 1965 and currently operates a fleet of more than 100 PCC vessels. The maiden call at MPC represents a significant step in strengthening MOL’s presence in Vietnam and establishes a foundation for future PCC operations at the port.

The successful operation also demonstrates the capability of MPC to handle large-scale automotive cargo movements and supports Hai Phong’s growing role as an important gateway for Vietnam’s automotive and international trade activities.

MOL expressed its appreciation to Mipec Port, terminal operators, stevedores, cargo owners and vessel crews for their strong cooperation and commitment, which contributed to the safe and successful completion of the maiden PCC call.

The milestone is expected to further strengthen collaboration between MOL and MPC while creating opportunities for increased automotive cargo movements through Hai Phong in the future.
