India is looking to deepen its partnership with France in the children’s apparel segment, with a high-level Indian textiles delegation holding discussions with leading French children’s fashion brand Okaïdi in Paris.
Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary (Textiles), along with Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), Dr. M. Beena, Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Shri Sarvesh, Director, Ministry of Textiles, and Shri N. Thirukkumaran, Executive Committee Member, AEPC, engaged with Alice Tran, Global Sourcing Manager, Okaïdi.
The discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen cooperation in children’s apparel sourcing, product development, sustainable manufacturing and responsible textile value chains.
A prominent French children’s fashion brand and part of the ÏDKIDS Group, Okaïdi operates around 890 stores across 51 countries, making it a significant global player in the children’s apparel market.
The engagement highlighted India’s competitive advantages, including its strong manufacturing base, skilled workforce, diverse textile ecosystem and increasing focus on sustainable and responsible production.
The meeting reaffirmed India’s commitment to expanding its presence in global children’s apparel sourcing and creating long-term partnerships with leading international fashion brands, further strengthening India–France cooperation in textiles and apparel.
