The CMA CGM Group has announced a strategic partnership with Pasqal to integrate advanced quantum computing technologies into its operations.
A key objective of this partnership is to utilise this technology to improve the efficiency, responsiveness, and adaptability of CMA CGM’s transport and logistics operations.
The partnership will reportedly focus on optimising container management, including loading on ships. A Quantum Computing Centre of Excellence will be established at TANGRAM, CMA CGM’s innovation hub, with access to a quantum processor developed by Pasqal.
To enhance understanding of quantum computing within the Group, an e-learning platform developed by Pasqal will be available to CMA CGM employees. Additionally, TANGRAM and Pasqal will organise events, such as use case workshops, technical presentations, and master classes, to foster innovation and collaboration among CMA CGM’s staff, partners, clients, and suppliers.

In May, the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) struck settlement agreements with three separate firms – including CMA CGM – totalling more than $2.3 million in civil penalty payments.
