Admiral Container Lines has restructured its ILX service following the withdrawal of a partner vessel, moving to operate the route independently in order to maintain service continuity across the Eastern Mediterranean.
The reconfigured ILX service has been split into two separate loops, allowing Admiral to preserve frequency and schedule reliability despite the change in vessel deployment.
Under the new structure, Loop 1 will be operated by two vessels of around 1,100 TEU, calling at Piraeus, Haifa, Ashdod, Alexandria (El Dekheila), Aliaga, and back to Piraeus. Loop 2 will be operated by a single 900 TEU vessel, serving Damietta, Iskenderun, Haifa, Ashdod, and returning to Damietta.
Admiral Container Lines said the revised setup is designed to ensure stable connections between key ports in Greece, Israel, Egypt, and Turkey, while minimising disruption for shippers following the change in partnership arrangements.
The move highlights how regional carriers are adapting service networks amid shifting alliances and vessel availability, as liner operators continue to fine-tune capacity deployment in response to market conditions.
