The Andhra Pradesh government has unveiled a comprehensive multi-modal infrastructure development plan covering ports, aviation, roads and logistics as it marks two years of governance.

Led by the Departments of Investments & Infrastructure and Roads & Buildings, the initiative is aligned with the state’s Maritime Policy 2024–29 and Aerospace & Defence Policy 2025. Officials said Andhra Pradesh has secured nearly 25% of India’s recent infrastructure investments.

Speaking at a review meeting, Roads, Buildings and Infrastructure Minister BC Janardhan Reddy and senior officials highlighted progress on four greenfield ports being developed by the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board at an investment of nearly ₹14,000 crore. The ports at Ramayapatnam, Mulapeta and Machilipatnam are targeted for completion by December 2026, while Kakinada Gateway Port is expected to be completed by March 2028.

The state is also advancing fishing harbour projects, with four Phase-I facilities nearing completion and Phase-II projects backed by ₹690 crore in funding. Land acquisition has begun for the proposed 3,500-acre Duggarajapatnam Mega Shipbuilding Cluster, while the AP LINK logistics corporation has been formally launched.

In the aviation sector, the nearly completed Bhogapuram International Airport is scheduled to commence commercial operations in July 2026. Andhra Pradesh is also pursuing nine greenfield airports with an estimated investment of ₹6,416 crore and has finalised DPRs for eight water aerodromes aimed at boosting regional tourism.

Officials said the state’s aerospace sector has attracted a proposed investment pipeline of ₹1 lakh crore with the potential to generate around one lakh jobs. Andhra Pradesh currently has a National Highway network of 8,360 km and ranks first in India in highway density relative to population.
