Aqaba Container Terminal (ACT) welcomed the container vessel KOTA ODYSSEY on her maiden call to Jordan, further reinforcing global shipping lines’ confidence in the terminal’s operational excellence and readiness to handle next-generation vessels.

The vessel is operated by Pacific International Lines (PIL), one of Asia’s leading container shipping lines. The welcoming ceremony was attended by Ugo Vincent, Regional Head of PIL, along with a delegation representing ACT CEO Harald Nijhof, and key strategic partners and stakeholders from across the maritime and logistics sector.

Built in 2025, KOTA ODYSSEY is a Post-Panamax vessel with a capacity of 8,200 TEUs. The vessel is powered by dual-fuel technology using liquefied natural gas (LNG) and bio-methane, significantly enhancing fuel efficiency while reducing carbon emissionsβ€”aligning with global sustainability standards and greener maritime operations.

The arrival of the vessel further strengthens ACT’s position as a strategic regional logistics hub connecting Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. It also supports the terminal’s long-term vision of becoming a green port by attracting cleaner, energy-efficient vessels and advancing sustainable port operations.

This milestone underscores ACT’s continued investments in infrastructure development, advanced handling equipment, and operational capabilities, enhancing its competitiveness and improving supply chain efficiency to better serve regional and international trade.
